Absolute Max Amount Of Malt For 50L Braumeister?

Unread postby DCBC » Thu Jan 11, 2018 3:17 am

Has anyone who has a 50L Braumeister ever exceeded the max amount of malt you can use? I have a recipe that calls for a little over 28 LBs of malt and I don’t want to have to use DME if I don’t have to. If you have used more than the suggested amount, what happened? Any and all details would be much obliged! Cheers!

I go to 16,8 kilo maximum. I must say i have the special filter plate from bac brewing however you could also turn around your top plate. Efficiency will not go over 75-77% when it is this full.

Hi Dirk. Could you please explain what this is and how you obtained it? Any links? Thanks!

For those of us who inhabit the rest of the world how much is 28 lb  which president signed the metric act and how long ago.

Seriously just google Bacbrewing braumeister filter plates.

Edit. Just googled it. Gerald Ford 23 December 1975. Who said it was to be the preferred unitary system. But those who wanted could continue to use English Queen Ann volume quantities and avoidupois weights.

28 LBs is 12.70 Kilograms. I suppose the recipe I have will work without the filter plates but I did look into it and the instructions are very hard to follow since it is not written for English but looks like it was translated using Google translator or something.

Do you have experience with the filter plate? Eventually I want to step up to the 500L Braumeister but I do not want to get use to using a tool if it is not available to me with the 500L system.
