San Miguel help

i want to brew a lager like San Miguel im guessing pilsner malt and some flaked rice but what hops and what hopping schedule would i use
any ideas would be helpful
im going to brew 20 liters

Dave Lines' Brewing Beers Like Those You Buy uses 15g of Hallertau hops steeped rotten minutes then added to a lager kit

No, the book is from the late 70s, it has no IBU or colour numbers and not every recipe has an OG quoted. A lot of the recipes have what looks to be an excessive amount of hops by today's standards.
Don't forget, this recipe was based on modifying a kit. The kit would have already had some hops in it.

San Miguel a beer originaly brewed in the Phillipines a former Spanish colony. If you like this type of "beer" I think you need all the help you can get :lol:

i like all types of beer sometimes its nice to sit in the garden with a refreshing cold lager i dont understand why people say you only have to like the kind of beer they like :cheers:

That is why we brew, to drink what we like to drink! :mrgreen: Not to side track your post, but many times when I am trying to duplicate a certain beer I end up liking what my version becomes better than the original. Good luck!! :beer:

if you search around you can pull up some recipes for similar lagers. i think you got it sorted though. the key would be dry finish rather than hop bitterness, and your european noble hops would be choice.

not sure where a beer was originally brewed has much to do with anything, but hey..
