Phone Timer for Multiple Hop Additions

I have searched the site but can't find anywhere that this has been mentioned

This timer available free from Google is great for managing your time when adding hops to the boil https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... imer&hl=en

You can save any number of hop schedules and the fact that you can programme an alert say 1 or 2 mins before the hop addition is due enables you to stop what ever you are doing and be ready to attend to the next hop addition or what ever

Cheers

I have an iPhone and the clock has a built in timer.. works great for additions. However, I haven't found a way to use it for multiple additions. For a 90 minute boil, I just set it for 30 minutes.. then another 30 minutes for the 30 minute addition and then 30 for the flame-out addition. It works.. I don't know if yours will work with an iPhone or not... but there is likely an iPhone app to do this.

You could set a timer for the first addition and an alarm for the 2nd addition.
To go OTT you could then set a calendar reminder for a 3rd.
........or get an app!

I LOVE Brew Timer. It's such a simple app that does what you need it to do perfectly. I use it for each hop addition as well as a reminder for the immersion chiller and Irish moss, should I be using any.

I am using Brew Pal. It has a notification feature for mash, boil and fermentation events.
Es ist zwar ein sehr gutes Bier, die Goslarische Gose; doch wenn man meint, sie sey im Bauch, so liegt sie in der Hose.

Nice idea fellows!

I've been thinking about hop addition-related bitter and aroma. When boil ends, the time spent to start chilling the wort could be 0 min or higher (30 min for example). During this time, hop addition is considered by some as whirlpool or Zero time addition. In softwares we got none bitter addition during this time, which is not exactly true in real practice.
I'll try in next batch a different schedule: 100 min boil followed by 20 min post-boil rest; I'll consider the hop additions made during the rest time as the last 20 min boil additions in Beersmith. What do you think guys?

There's a hop timer on my braumeister itself.
I always use that one. Works fine for me

Think this is only on the newer models. It's not on mine
I think you need to get a firmware update for this. Pity you can't do this yourself as this is a handy feature

And even then it's very limited. Only three additions from memory.

Not enough for anything but basic recipes.

I have started using Brew Timer on the iPad.
Cheers
