Monitor your BM remotely

Unread postby BrauTim » Mon Aug 25, 2014 3:47 pm

OK, this is probably too simple and obvious to even bother posting about, but I'm a simpleton and just discovered how to remotely monitor my BM (I brew in my garage and frequently go out to check on things), just turn your mobile phone, iPhone 5 in my case, into a network webcam and watch it on a laptop from the comfort of your sofa.

I did it in a rush and paid £0.69p for this app http://instant-webcam.com, but it was running in seconds, no setup and simple to use, now I can at least monitor temps such as when chilling or just keep an eye on where I am in the process, simply brilliant 8)

Now we just need Spiedel to produce an App that will control the BM.
To brew or not to brew, that would be a stupid question !

I use Google hangout on my iPad/iPhone to do the same thing!

What a brilliant idea, I've just installed 'IP Webcam' from the Google play store, FOC, onto my 'brewery' Advent Vega tablet and it works a treat :D

Thanks BrauTim

Monitor your BM remotely

Good idea, but as the beer fridge is in the garage with the BM I don't mind nipping out to check on the brew as the timing generally coincides with the need for a top up.
Cheers

Did anyone tought about combining this with some kind of toy to press the buttons?

I think it should not be so hard to build something with that LEGO technic.
