In my opinion, the main advantage of this kind of hopspider is doing a hopstand after the flameout at 85ºc during sometime. I low the temperature with the chiller, maintein it with the Braumeister control, and when stable, I add the aroma hops. After the required time, I remove the hopspider and hold it above the chiller while drains all the worth inside the hops that I press with a long spoon not too loose to much worth.
exactly what i do with most brews. although after reading about it on bruloshophy, i am beggining to question if it makes a major difference - their tests seemed to conclude . for them at least it makes little difference between hop stands and flame out methods.
