High OG mashing

I'm using a 50L model and trying to hit about 9% OG.

I know I could mash once and hit 4.5%, then mash again with more grain to take it up to hit 9%. But I was wondering if anyone has any other tips or tricks.

Ultimately, I'm hoping to end up with 100 litres of 9% wort, so double mashing it all might take quite a while...

what do you mean by 4.5% and 9% OG? (in terms of gravity)

You want to get 100l of 9% beer from as few runs as possible?

Try an overnight mash. I tend to get 95% efficiency with an overnight mash, do a double mash with the second one overnight. On my first strong Belgain ale it rocked in at 11.5% with 12 kg of grain (did two 6kg mashes in a 20 litre,).
