Regulator leak

Unread postby Onthebrew » Sat Sep 29, 2018 7:33 pm

I have got a new regulator and it seems to leak where the other side of the john guest attachment screws into the regulator. I’ve tightened it fully with a spanner but it still leaks at the regulator when the gas line is attached to a quick disconnect. Any ideas anyone?

Hi there
Have you tried PTFE tape on the threads.

No, don’t have any to hand. Does it need them? It’s brand new. My previous regulator had the John guest fitting built in so the gas line went straight in no messing.

+1 for PTFE tape. Mine leaked without it. Doesn't leak with it. I now put it on any threaded joint I can find.
