Do you sanitize chiller or chuck it in the boil for 15 min?

Hi guys. I have seen a video where about 15 min prior to the end of the boil the brewer chucked the chiller (stainless steel off Speidel) to the wort - so he did not sanitize it... Is this something you do/ would consider/ recommend/ does not matter...?

It's all I've ever done and I'm sure most do the same.

I don't put mine in until the boil is finished.

i tend to do it about 5 mins before the end- i rinse in hot water first - but that's just to heat it up so it doesn't effect the boil so much

I put my cooper home made chiller in the dishwasher when I start brewing (short program) and just before flame out I put the chiller in sanitizing solution and then into wort. most probably It;s more than needed but i do it

I pop mine in at 15 minutes from the end with protofloc and any late hop additions.

I do think this is OTT, that said I do dishwasher beer crates when the wife goes shopping !!

..and for the record I do think home made immersion coils are the mutts nutts - good value- nice project - stunning performance and then make you grin every brewday!

Another one here. It might have cooled to 95 or so but it's still very hot.
