Footprint of 50L BM?

Unread postby SteveOR » Wed Feb 11, 2015 10:13 pm

Need some help from a 50l user. I am thinking about upgrade to the 50L. My concern is will my cart fit it. My cart is 400mm by 600mm. I wonder how the legs are positioned and will it fit albeit hang over a little? Thanks for your help. The specs says its 500 mm in diameter.

Cheers

I would say you need at least 55cm to be on the safe side. The feet actually is a bit further out that the "pot".

Thanks for your opinion, but i was really loking for a measurement. Based the 20l design I am assuming the 50 is also a tripod legged stand. The 20 a 400 mm diameter vessel only really needs 300 mm for the base to be supported. I am hoping the 50 at 500mm dia is similar. I of course could be wrong and 550 is the correct answer? While i see buying another bm a possibility, I do not have room for another cart.

The legs are indeed in a tripod configuration, I've just measured mine, the widest part from a leg edge to a leg edge is 430mm

I guess so, could you not put a couple of planks of wood across the trolley that would extend it's width just for the legs? Or a wider bit of plywood or similar, it would need to be about 450mm square to give a little bit of safety margin

Or mount a board of multiplex on top of it. My BrauTish has a multiplex (betonplex as we call it) top and this works perfect.
