Controller Issues

Unread postby eknowles » Tue Jan 13, 2015 2:18 pm

I have a 20ltr BM, all fine and dandy until recently. When I get to the add hops section, I add the hops then for some reason the controller won't let me input the fact that the hops have been added and I have to switch the machine onto manual to finish the brew. Any ideas??

What do you see on the controller when you are prompted to add hops? It should only beep, not require any input to continue.

Do you have the old type or the new type controller?
The old one just beeps when you have to add hops. The counter simply continues.

Niels, Does the Gen2 controller behave any differently for the hops timer?

The new controller keeps beeping until you confirm the addition. The timer keeps running, though.

The above is valid IIRC. Saturday I will brew one last time with the BM10 before sending it back.

That's good to know - better than the current. If I do decide to upgrade it'll be nice to know I don't have to set my iPhone alarms!

The controller is the white plastic one, about 18 months old. Just get message "add hops" and then nothing. Used to say that and you clicked enter I think and it continued. Then again....

I think you are misremembering! Mine has always only beeped out a reminder and carried on its bubbly little way.
I wasn't planning on going for a run today but those cops came from nowhere!

Have been in touch with Speidel and they think it's a faulty unit and have offered repair. Very impressed with the service, highly recommended.
