Wi-Fi Module Update

Unread postby nibber » Fri Sep 07, 2018 5:13 pm

Any one tried updating their Wi-Fi module firmware?
On the Speidel website with the latest firmware updates it states"an optional update for the wifi-module 4.8.5 (if the wifi is on 4.8.4, then update this first - version visible on the wifi settings, update starts automatically after removing the update cable and connecting to the electricity, afterwards install the firmware for the Braumeister)". Mine was on 4.8.4 so I have tried to do this with the wifi updater hex file(520Kb) it ran through the all motions and looked as though it was updating the wifi module but when I switched back on the wi-fi module is still on 4.8.4 :?
My 20 litre was on old Brew control firmware 1.1.24 so have now updated to the latest 1.1.26 which went in the machine controller okay. :D

I emailed Speidel their response-
Hello Nigel,
if you update it step by step it should work out.
You first have to update the WIFI Module and then you have to update
the Braumeister update as well to finish the process.
Maybe the best to try it again.

Kind regards

Speidel Tank- und Behälterbau GmbH

I did update the WiFi module first !
So I will give it another go! :beerbang:

i don't understand why updating the braumeister has to be such a pain.. is it so complicated to connect the device, press update and done?
the procedure to update the firmware looks like in 1990.
