I have a beer fridge I use to keep my kegs, co2 tank and bottles :)
For now, I use the tap directly on the keg but probably I will upgrade to a tap directly on the fridge door.

Great, the day it happens, I largely recommend you investing in Intertap faucet(s) with flow control.
Like those https://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product ... w-control/

I used the standard piston faucets before and upgraded them to Intertap faucets, those ones are way better.
Also watch that video about faucets, very instructive and fairly objective despite being a video from the manufacturer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_tvk8iCRCw

thank you very much! very helpful as I was wondering which one to buy :) (if it makes sense to chose the flow control option)

I have pretty much the same gear. How are you transferring into the Grainfather Fermenter?

Currently I have the BM on 2 milk crates and gravity feed, but eventually I'll install the mod @Mashy posted which uses the BM pump through a 3 way ball valve.

I will use the fermenter for the first time this weekend. the plan is to use gravity as well. I usually brew on a table so it should be tall enough (i hope). even the fermenter is taller than I thought. :drink:

happy with the kit so far?

Yes, happy with all the gear. I've had the GF conical for 6 months now and it's a great piece of gear.

During summer there would be puddles of water around the base of the conical from the condensation, so I made a jacket which solved that problem and the added insulation meant less energy being used to maintain a dry constant temp. I made my own glycol chiller using a bar fridge and a bucket of water with the Grainfather cooling kit.

These days I transfer the wort in at around 30c and let my glycol bring it down to pitch temp more quickly, as the immersion chiller can only do so much with the hot summer tap water here in Sydney.

Only minor complaint is the tri clamp is hard to get on unless you have the unit upside down.

looks great :)

I was just testing with water and it looks like using tilt hydrometer into GF conical works only if you have the device in the proximity of approx. 50 cm. I was hoping for more.
