Whirlpool attachment

Unread postby Sladek789 » Thu Nov 15, 2018 11:44 am

I simply want to share a Whirlpool attachment modification I found on norbrygg.no, a Norwegian homebrewing forum.

The idea is just awesome and as I have not found anything similar on this forum (I might have badly looked), I wanted to share it with all.

The original post (in Norwegian but google translate is everyone's friend): https://forum.norbrygg.no/threads/wirlp ... del.15510/
If, BjarneHB, the Norwegian homebrewer name on the forum is here too. Two things, first great idea and how is your experience using it, still work great?

Nice one.

Gives me an idea for a cleaning spray head.

I guess the only problem is that the pump switches off at approx. 88 °C, so you will have to wait a while for the boiled wort to cool before you could whirlpool.

You always whirpool hot - at least when adding whirpool hops. The temperature is likely to be 90C or above.

It's useful for those with BAC Spring filters. A bit of trub cone prevents it from clogging up.

Intereted to know how good it is for whirlpooling whole hop cones.

Can't help but think, this is another commercial/industrial beer process we are adopting "'cos they do it". When is reality we don't have the problem to solve in the first place.
