DIY Vented Boil Cap

Worked up a DIY solution for a domed boil lid:

Just need to hole saw the mixing bowl, attach 4” by 4’ duct line, and attach my 120 CFM duct fan:

Total cost will be about $40.

These also save boil overs.

Make sure your duct is stainless. I had a few idiots on ebay who couldn't tell the difference between that and galv.

I do now have a drilled ss army bowl, with a elbow on top. It lips nicely into the BM.

Did you put the silicon tube the stirrup?

I was planning on using the semi rigid aluminum dryer duct (the rigid flex type) from the bowl to the fan.

Yup. I just cut high temp tube scrap up and placed it strategically. It keeps the stirrup in place and keeps the bowl from shifting.

Yes indeed I do. I meant the welded on connector.
From a condensate point of view, run the hose down the side of the BM - stops it running back.
