Suspend hood from ceiling?

Unread postby jever » Thu Jan 25, 2018 8:19 am

Just got the stainless steel hood and it seems perfect for my needs.

Anyone that can share a way of suspending the hood from the ceiling both for storage and to be able to lift it during boil? I guess a visit to a hardware stores sailboat department has the stuff - i just lack the knowledge on how to put it together... ;)

I added 3 chains. Think hanging basket of flowers.

But TBH in use, it is just as good resting on the stirrup.

Thanks!

I ended up using the steel BM rod to get a small gap and then a simple hook/pole on the wall to suspend it when not in use. The fact that i want to use it as a funnel mashing in made the suspend-from-ceiling alternative to complicated. But i will continue to look ways to improve it.

I suspend it with four wires and hooks from the hoist that I use for the malt pipe. I installed a triangular bracket on the back wall and the pulleys hang from there.

Good idea. ..and of course you don't need the hood till the pipe is out ...cracking thinking.
