Sandedk, this is one of the greatest mods for a Braumeister 50L I have seen! Thanks so much for posting. I’m about to embark on a similar mod for my brewery, but I wanted to hear from you how well this mod is working for you?
Any regrets, or unforeseen problems?
Is there anything new you have discovered to do using the pumps?
Finally, do you have any tips for me?

Really looking forward to your reply, thanks again for posting

Great stuff! I’m just waiting on a 3-way valve to arrive and then I’m good to go. I’ll post to the thread when it’s done

Sandedk, I am thinking of using your power switch idea on a BM20. That way there is less chance of catching manual heater button accidentally when washing down.

I have a 3 way on the pump, so I use it for wash down with warm water from the immersion cool.

So I need to be plugged in. But don't want the element risk. Also thinking about a guard.. Like on a fighter jet trigger

Coming round to the idea on a switch to isolate the elements.

With a fancy guard..

Which is of course begging to be forgotten when I start the brew!

I'm about to finally make this mod (non-pumped gunk drain - as I already pump through a BAC springer filter via the main tap)

But I'm slightly paranoid about messing with my BM - just to confirm this the right place to remove the whole assembly.

I'll need to buy a bigger adjustable spanner...

yup. Use a bit of cloth or leather too - it will stop it marking the nut.

Thanks Mashy

The cone fitting took some effort to remove from the elbow fitting - I had to torch it and then finally it came free from the threadlock. It was a bit tricky as I had to use two spanners as I don't have a vice.

Should now just need the excess sealant brushed off.

I remember it being a bit of a bugger too. Well done.

I think you might find that your shiney new main tap might become redundant. 8)
