twelve and twenty four hour clock

Unread postby IPA » Mon Nov 12, 2018 5:54 pm

I have just noticed that there is a problem with the time of a post. Mashy's post for example on the 5 November was timed at 02.12 pm ????. You can have 2 .12 pm on the 12 hour system or 0212 am on the 24 hour system. That's as wrong as saying for example "twenty two hundred hours" when you should say "twenty hours"

Certainly is. There are not twenty two hundred hours in a day. I think it originated in the military because they mistakenly took the two zeros after, for example, 22 to signify hundreths. In Europe we say simply say twenty hours.

I get your logical argument.
Is it a literal way this is read?
How do you write 22 hours?
