Ralf proposed to send me a demo unit to try out the new 10l model! Yes, you've read it correct. I will be able to spend some time with the 10l Braumeister and I will report back to you.
I don't know when I'll be receiving the unit and how long I can keep it before sending it back, but I'm playing with the idea of making it a bit of a forum event. Of course, not everyone can simply come over to Belgium to attend a brew with it, but maybe we can build a recipe together that I'll be brewing and documenting. Members who would like to come over are welcome to attend the brew, too.

You should setup a Google hangout or something similar to broadcast your test batch :)

Please let us know how your reseller handles this for you. I am contemplating a decision, but not at the expense of obsolescence on day 1

Neils

In your discussions with Speidel you should get then to include a "delay start" of up to say 12 hours or alternatively to incorporate "a clock" and the ability to program a start time in the new control box if at all possible

I'm sure a lot/most members on this forum would welcome such a facility

Cheers

VolumeMax. maltMax. gravity

20l (model)6.0kg1.069
25l (short)6.0kg1.056
50l (model)13.0kg1.060

This would mean that the 20l model is best suited for "higher" gravity beers. Assuming of course that you don't exceed the official numbers and don't lower the volume.

I'm looking forward to push the limits of the 10l model :)

And we are looking forward to read about it :)

Just a thought.. wouldn't the higher pump capacity help to improve the gravity as well?

I'm pretty sure Speidel will not incorporate a delayed start because of possible safety issues. I'll ask Ralf anyway.

Exactly my thought. The higher capacity will probably increase efficiency a bit.

If they won't introduce that, then maybe they could introduce an immediate start at power-up option so that we could put it on our own timers, or provide a setting that we could choose to switch on a delay start option if we wish, then it is left to the customer to choose.
To brew or not to brew, that would be a stupid question !

niels;
When you get the new 10L, can you please check the backside to see if it has connection to a second pump?

The reason for asking, is that instead of using 550EUR purchasing the new control unit.. I'm thinking of spending 1350EUR on the new 10L and swap over the control unit with my "old" 50L.

I will certainly do! Were did you get these prices? Were are you from (country)?

I'll wait for Speidel to announce the price for a swap of the control box. I suppose this will be less expensive.

Wake up in the morning, the water is warm and ready to mash-in.

I see ... I just fill her up and have breakfast.
I would never use the function; what if I feel like staying in bed for another half hour ?

Go to work, come home at 5pm, water at mash-in temp, ready to go, saving me approx 50 mins waiting for my water to heat-up, saving 30% of my overall mash time and making it possible to brew completely on a schoolday evening and still get to bed on time!

Niels; the price for the 10L is from a Norwegian shop, converted into EUR (Petit Agentur). The price for the new control unit is based upon an email from the shop owner. But that one is a bit uncertain, just an estimate.
It seems like prices for Speidel equipment is about the same between countries.

.............. and me. At the moment mine does everything I need it to do. I'll only be interested if they do a reasonably priced exchange.
