New to Brau - 50L Plus - Checking recipe for first brew

First off, hi everyone!

I'm from Sydney Australia, just purchased the 50L Plus after many years of BIAB. Can't wait to get brewing on this bad boy.

Would appreciate if you seasoned Braumeister professionals could have a look over this. Just want to check my recipe/beersmith profile to make sure I'm thinking right:

-11.4kg Grain
-Aiming for 1.053 50L into kegs (54L post boil)

I'm using beersmith and have set these parameters:
- 78% Effieciency
- Total water needed - 71.7L
- Mash 60L... around 10L Lost to grain
- Sparge 11.7L
- Boil Volume 61.7L
- 90 min boil
- 7.5 Boil off
- 54L post boil
- Loss to trub - 2L (+Fermenter Loss - 2LO
- 50L into kegs

look pretty standard?

Hi captain. I hope you lots of fun brewing with your new BM. One thing I noticed in your calcs. The loses to trub will be more like 5 lts. That will depend on how much you are prepared to carry over into your fermenter. I pump as much as I can and leave behind about 2-3 lts and the day after pitching I normally remove another litre from my conical fermenter.
Happy brewing

Welcome, Cap'n you'll find the crew here both knowledgeable and helpful.

A couple of observations.

78% efficiency looks a bit high for 11.4kg grain unless you are doing overnight mashing. Check it out on this site. It's what the BM was made for. If you are doing a normal mash I'd expect it to be more like 70% to 73%.

I never bother sparging. I calculate for 55l post boil and load the BM up to just below the top of of the pipe for the mash. I then add water to to the boil to end up with 55l.

I usually end up with 50l in the fermenter.

Cheers

Hello
What are the settings in Beersmith 2 for Braumeister 50 l plus. Are they equal to 50 l.

Thank you
