Speidel 30L Fermenter

Unread postby BrauTim » Thu Aug 28, 2014 9:01 pm

Does anyone know what the dimensions of the 30L is I can't find any details about it anywhere (inc the Speidel website!).
To brew or not to brew, that would be a stupid question !

Thanks Neils, so two of them side-by-side inside a fridge I would need the fridge to be approx 71/72 cm wide....hmmmm...

about 30cm diameter at the base, a tiny bit wider in the middle, i think the 35cm spec incorporates the spigot, which can be replaced with the (included) screw cap, and with the big airlock it's around 65 cm high. if you have more specific or acurate needs let me know i'll put the tape measure / micrometer to it

These are very good fermenters, BrauTim. I'm migrating from Better Bottle fermenters. Bought my 4th the other week. You might need to account for the robust handles, which protrude some. I could squeeze 6 in my fridge (the 'Tardis Chamber').

Cheers, malzrohr  I've got big plans that haven't been discussed with my lovely, understanding wife. There is a flimsy, non-structural stud wall stopping my colonisation of a strategic part of the basement, next to my cave. If I gain this territory, I could plumb in a sink and prep for a 50L BM and brew in the basement, listening to Iron Maiden :D Just need to convince her that the suitcases and walking boots could go elsewhere.

Hey bierfest,

It's one of these: http://www.norcool.co.uk/produkter/kjol ... ttstaende/

Norway doesn't manufacture much, but when they do, they do an admirable job.

Anyone racking under pressure from these plastic fermenters?

What accessories do I need that fit?

Cheers!

Hi Mashy. We meet again ;)

Rack with CO2 pressure.
Needs CO2 Into top of fermenter and beer out to keg.

With a glass carboy you can use these: https://www.morebeer.com/products/rubbe ... 4QQAvD_BwE

Wondered what would fit as not used a Speidel fermenter before.

Thanks in advance.

Right. Using co2 for transport. Got it.

Have only used those caps for vacuum.

I doubt they will fit or easily adapt.
But it would be dead easy to add a gas port.
Or rack by syphon maybe?
