Is it possible to use cooling unit with immersion stainless steel chiller with BM20? Is so, how would you connect the unit with wort chiller and make it closed loop?

I'm not sure if this will chill enough in a closed loop system. Certainly not when chilling at boiling temperatures.

I chill using tap water until I reach 25~30 °C ( depending on the season/temperature of tap water) and then switch to a fountain pump submerged in a bucket with ice water. This brings my wort down to 17 °C and lower without any issues.

I prefer ice packs, to save wasting the water and the time.

I find that my stainless steel wort chiller works pretty well, mains water temperature in the UK is pretty cold at the moment, and for an ale i only want it really to around 20C, lagers need to be at around 12c, so if i'm brewing in summer and the chillers struggling to get the wort to the correct pitch temperature i'll just run of into the fermented and then put into the cold brew fridge for an hour and let it drop to temperature before airating and pitching the yeast.
I dont mind the wait either, the time it takes to chill gives me 25 or so minutes to clean and sort out other bits of kit.
