Is the boil weaker on the 20l ?

I am or was set to get my bm in the new year having worked everything out.But on watching homebeerbrewery who i follow on youtube it got me concerned about the boil on the 20l.

Looks like he had some problems with rust on the element and some
other stuff too, "monday morning unit" :oops: He returned it :(

It's the first time I heard about a corroded heating element. If he really wanted the Braumeister I'm pretty sure that Speidel would replace the unit (or the heating element and the spigot) under warranty.

Anyways, the boil seems to be a bit weaker on the 20L, but it can be improved using a insulation jacket (e.g. a camping mat) and/or a hood (from Speidel or DIY).

yes thats the one i did suspect the rust would be a one off seemed like he just had a real bad unit.Just read about others adding a imersion element to help in the 20l version tbh id want it to work out box rather than havibg to add to it.As long as with the jacket i get a good boil id be happy.

Just the whole ive spent £1200 it should be great

An insulating jacket goes a long way. If you make a hood as well as shown elsewhere then you are golden.
No need to use more energy, just don't waste it heating the air surrounding the BM!
