Going to purchase mid next year

Unread postby beerlover1983 » Mon Aug 18, 2014 12:52 pm

Im hopefully going to have enough pennies save by mid next year to get my 20l.I brew in a flat and its my main reason for buying one.I used a 3v system at my parents house but means i brew less.

Only thing is i will most likely need to put into the loft after brewday. How heavy is the 20l when empty to get in and out a loft for a brewday?

are we talking standing precariously on a ladder and lifting over your head, or walking up a flight of stairs and plunking it down on a corner? if the former, perhaps possible but certainly not enjoyable, if the latter, not a problem at all. i don't know the exact weight, but it's easy enough to lift. but you certainly wouldn't want to run the 400m with it in your arms. you can put everything; the malt tube, the handle and support poles, the power cord, all inside the BM and stash it away for storage. i even put my immersion chiller in it, but then the lid doesn't close.

The first option sadly i currently do this on most brewdays with mashtun pot fv etc and its tedious.Which has drawn me to the bm dont think the wife would accept it on kitchen side all the time.

Indeed, the brochure states that the 20L weighs 15kg and the 50L weight approximately 24kg.
