UK Price Hike!

Unread postby nibber » Tue Jun 28, 2016 5:25 pm

Well,
I was just waiting for the 50 Litre to come back into stock (still unavailable from a well known UK supplier but unsure if I can name them) to purchase it, and checked the price last night and was very surprised and disappointed to find that the price has been increased by £126 to £1,750!.On contacting the supplier via email I was told this was "mainly down to the drop in the Euro following Brexit decision. We have been holding off a price increase despite the dropping rates over the past year but unfortunately cannot hold the price with the current exchange rate."Anywhere else in the UK that I can get one from? as this has left me massively peeved.

You want someone who has one in stock and is not drop shipping it from Germany - try all the bigger brewshops.

Still having a look around, there are not many brew shops in the UK that stock them though.

Still way cheaper than Australia.... Would that suggest that those who voted for BREXIT don't brew.

If feel for the UK

Might want to check if it is the current version, but it looks like it is.

Thanks, that's a good price, looks like i have a couple of days before the offer ends, but they do charge £60 delivery, would of thought spending that sort of money it would be free delivery, but it still works out cheaper.B**w UK looks like you have lost a sale on a 50 Litre, has anyone here had any dealings with Vigo? :D

Vigo are brill. They are not big brew shop. They are huge. The professionals choice.

Order it if you are going to. Other people will be doing the same. Order it online get the discount. Pay on a visa card. Get a refund it not in stock.

They have seriously come down in price. The 20 used to be 1400 and the 50 was about 1700

Sorted! Just bought my 50 Litre from Vigo they were very helpful -as geterbrewed says in stock on their webpage but what they really mean when you contact them by telephone is "in stock" at the manufacturer! So delivery is arranged for next Friday 8th July. :beerbang: :drink:

Thanks all, Vigo had 3 x 50 Litre models in stock before i ordered mine yesterday- they are now down to only 1 left and they have extended their online 5% discount offer until the end of August if anyone is interested,1st job after unpacking it will probably be to update the firmware as not sure what version it will have as it may have sat on the shelf for a couple of months, followed by good clean to flush out any pipe jointing compound and debris that I found in my 20 Litre when I first cleaned it, followed a big grain bill Russian Imperial Stout in this larger capacity beast! as the wife is away all weekend at a dog show and I can make as much mess as I want until Sunday night! :drink: :beerbang: :beerbang:
