Get closer to Est OG in BeerSmith

Unread postby steak » Thu Dec 08, 2016 5:32 pm

A little desperate about trying get closer to the Est OG in BeerSmith with my Braumeister 20.

I added both the BM equipment profile and mash profile I downloaded online.
I even tailored them according to my habits.

Then, entered this recipe
http://meekbrewingco.blogspot.com/2013/ ... ne-no.html
(some malts are substitutes, but the total amount is the same).

It should give me 1.064, but I'm at 1.078

Could the experts in here have a look at my screenshots and let me know where the big mistake(s) is?

Thanks a million

Precisions:
The recipe is for 21L in the fermenter and 19L in the bottles.
I usually go with 23L mash water and 25L pre-boil.

Ur mash efficiency is 17% more than the created recipe is?

I would try to take away the loss to trub and chiller. And just make the batch size 2liters more. Have the loss in your head. That option mess up a lot in my opinion.
Have you measured that boil off rate yourself? For me its to much you entered.

One thing the stands out is the difference between estimated and actual pre-boil volumes. Why such a large difference?

Thanks a lot

I'll try all that and see what it gives.
