SNPA Brew Log

Unread postby Mattias » Sat Aug 27, 2016 8:18 am

Yesterday I started my first ale with the braumeister. I want to brew a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale before the fall lager brewing season starts again.
The yeast starter is on it's way - Wyeast 1056. Brewday will be monday.

Hello all,
I started fermentation with an OG of 1.049 and I'm staying at 1.006 now. Taget is 1.011. Maybe the temperature (68C) was on the low side, maybe I airated too much?
I think about adding a couple of ounces maltodextrin to get a better mouthfeel and body. What do you think about that?

How does it taste after some ageing?

I would suggest krausening if you can brew (BIAB?) a little wort, and make it heavy on what's lacking.
