Hello all from Saddleworth

Unread postby Grab A Salad » Mon Sep 15, 2014 9:00 pm

Hello all,
Just found this forum after two years with a BM20. Love the kit and have made some cracking brews with it. I'm looking forward to learning from others and sharing what odd bits I have found out along my brewing journey.

Interested to learn more about brewPi and temp controlled maturation as well as Beersmith etc

Cheers
Dave

Welcome Dave,

This forum is really building into quite a good resource with member numbers increasing every day.
You will enjoy it on here.

Is your hometown the Saddleworth in the mid north of South Australia?

Hi Dicko,
Thanks for the welcome I'm sure I will enjoy it here.

The Saddleworth I'm from is in the Pennines between Manchester and Huddersfield in the UK. Bet it rains less on the Aus version :-)

Cheers
Dave

Welcome Dave,

My Mum grew up in a pub on the edge of Saddleworth Moor, Oldham side, my grandmother used to be the landlady (in the 1930's-1960's), I can't remember the name of it, but I'll get the details.

:)

EDIT: Forgot to add that I used to work for Ferranti near Oldham for a year in 1983, them were days :drink:

Morning all,
The Farrars arms is still going strong and is about half a mile from here. As for Toddy , I'll be dragged up there for the garden centre when they get their Xmas displays out I suspect, it's a nice place to be...

As for what to call me, i have been called many things over the last 43 years, Dave or Grab A Salad works well or any pun on either that is at least vaguely humorous...

Starting to think of gags now:-)

Cheers
Dave

In the town of Huddersfield
There lived a cow that wouldn't yield.
The reason why she wouldn't yield?
She didn't like her udders feeled.
