Re: Greetings from the Sacramento, CA area

Hi Welcome to the Forum. I was in California earlier this year, first visit to the USA, had a fantastic time, everybody so helpful and friendly. I didn't get to Sacramento but I did get to Russian River in New Windsor to sample the Pliny the Elder. Just need to get back to try Pliny the Younger. Oh ...

Re: Controller Screen Condensation

Warming the outside of the screen may dissipate the condensation but this simply means the moisture is merely returned to water vapour inside the controller. I'm not sure that is any better for the electrics than condensation. BTW I have fitted the useless grommet/vent Speidel sent me. As I see it, ...

Re: Controller Screen Condensation

I agree. But I still want to know how the moisture enters the controller. It could be that the gasket between the two halves is not sealing correctly. The curved front panel appears to be glued to the controller body I suspect this may not be an airtight seal. The size of the heatsink on the rear of...

Re: Controller Screen Condensation

Yes, I understand that, but how does the moisture get into the controller in the first place?

Re: Controller Screen Condensation

Resurrecting an old post here. Just completed my 73rd brew on my BM. Have had condensation on the last 70 of them. Did anyone find a solution or is it still an ongoing problem? Opened the controller up next day and removed small droplets of water. Where does this water come from?

Re: Stainless pint pots

The metallic taste was very strong initially but seems to have disappeared now. Drinking pliny the elder in Sanoma County was a sublime experience.

Re: Stainless pint pots

Russian River Brewing use stainless pots for their outside drinking area at New Windsor Cal. These are plain ones, they sell branded ones in the shop. I bought a couple home last August, initially they had a noticeable metallic taste which I found disappointing. Now after 3 months of use with many w...

They will be fine. Do they have a best before date or a year they were harvested?

Re: Priming Sugar before bottling

I do the same as mashy, you could run of to a secondary vessel. Do not add to primary vessel and stir to dissolve.

Re: What Barley malt do you use?

Cheapest I can find in the UK at the moment is Minch malt from the homebrew company. Currently £21-95 for 25kg. Crushed or uncrushed. I have used it several times with good success.

Re: Hot jet wash

Would the BM element have enough power to maintain the temperature from the IC or would the fIow of water through IC drag down the temp in the BM?
