Re: 10L Braumeister Grain Capacity

I didn't fill mine more than with 2.6 kg, usually 2.5.
I can't imagine it would be possible to fill it more without getting even more issues with efficiency than there already is. But then I've never really became friend with my BM10 as it was.

Re: Help with new BM 20l

I've had my BM10 for some months now and about 10 brews done, have had no problems with condensation what so ever (yet...).

Re: Five litres of wort left in the BM

I'm able to tilt my BM10 somewhat before it hits the screen, I probably leave a litre, or so, in my kettle. I think I've been reading on this forum someone making a mod to their BM using the pump inlet/outlet to drain the kettle, thus being able to get all of the wort out, with trub and all. I don't...

Re: Efficency

Btw, the speidel recommendation of crush size 1.6 mm, is that for best effiency or for clearest wort or anything else?

Re: Efficency

Thanks for the replies guys. Coming from "standard" BIAB brewing I understand the thinking of efficency isn't THAT important; just add more grist to get to your wanted OG. But since that's not possible in BM10 it matters a bit more, if one want a bit higher OG beer and 10 litre of final product... I...

Re: Efficency

There are many who have reported a little less efficiency with a full malt pipe. I see a small drop of about 3-5% with my BM20L short malt pipe with a fuller grain load and I'm thinking it may have something to do with circulation of that thicker mash. Next time I max out my malt pipe I'm going to ...

Efficency

It seems like I'm getting lower effiency as I'm getting closer to the max amount of grain I could fit in my BM10. As I understand the max is about 2.8 kg and when I've been filling the malt pipe with 2.6+ kg I'm getting an effiency around 62%. With less malt (1.5 - 2.5kg) I'm seeing an effiency arou...

Re: BM10 lid, boil off change?

What´s the verdict? Hmm good question, actually I forgot to measure volume after  I think I had pretty much the expected volume (=same as before) going into fermentor though, or more or less so. I probably will brew this weekend as well, I will be a good brewer and do the necessary measuring t...

Re: Grains in cool water.

So you start the brew with a 6 hour 20c "rest" then raise the temp. to 67c, or whatever, for next rest and continue as usual?

Re: BM10 lid, boil off change?

Thanks, I might brew this weekend and will check what my boil off will be, if it changed or not.

BM10 lid, boil off change?

I've just got the lid ( https://shop.speidels-braumeister.de/en/accessories/brewing/stainless-steel-lid-10-litre-braumeister ) for my recently purchased BM10. My boil-off for my first brew (without the lid) was about 1.8 litre / hour. Should I expect a less boil-off using the lid? Or, since the boil...

Can someone tell me what the need is for these?
I think it's great to see the progress in "real time". It was an eye opener for me to see how fast fermentation actually take place and finishes.

Re: Has anyone tried The Brew Perfect

I second the tilt suggestion... been working good for my needs. Yes there are limitations/downsides but all in all it's a very useful product.

Re: New owner, advice needed

Just checked my mill and it had the gap set to about 1.2mm, which if I understand correct is a bit finer than recommended, but not unheard of.

Re: Boil rate for a 20L BM

Regarding first question, I just started to test https://web.brewfather.app instead of Brewers Friend as I used to use. I'm quite impressed so far, and it also have built in example "equipment profiles" for different Braumeister versions.
