Re: Hi all - new post from Nottingham

Hi John,
Welcome to this great forum!
I used to use leaf hops but now use pellets.
Cannot recommend the Speidel hop filter it is totally useless!
I use a Bac Brewing springer or a Mangrove Jack hop spider on my machines

Re: New "hold down bow" design

I would not think it is long enough to use for a mash paddle due to the length of the 20 litre malt pipe maybe okay for the smaller 10 litre optional malt pipe

Re: New element will not work

Hi ,
Have you tried testing the element on its own with a multi-tester easiest way would be to disconnect and just plug into the mains to see if the element actually works

Thanks for all the info guys,
I cannot believe how cheap the electric winches are!
They would have been silly money a few years ago. :drink:

Re: Electric winch for 50 Litre

It is a little over kill, but was inexpensive. Hufcor track and $80 electric winch. Wouldn't do it any other way now though. Yup I have found this and it's cheaper than an engine hoist  https://www.amazon.co.uk/Silverline-264782-Silverstorm-Electric-Capacity/dp/B002QRWHRO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&q...

Electric winch for 50 Litre

I have made a decision to get rid of my old shed which is falling apart, and have a brand new bespoke one built to brew in. I am going to have the roof reinforced as I want to include a small electric hoist for removing my 50 litre malt pipe. Anyone have a small electric hoist they use that they can...

Re: Hello from England

it will be interesting to find out your thoughts between the two systems. What made you upgrade/switch in the first place? The GF has too many external pipes and having to wrestling with the chiller. Having used my Braumeister for the first time last week I also found cleaning a lot easier. I still...
